Lesson Plan Style

Hello class!
I am not sure I will have a lesson plan "style" but I really like the step by step of Madeline Hunter's lesson plans. I do think that she has a lot of steps/information that goes into one of her lesson plans but I think the more the better for the students.  I think I read this at some point tonight, "Lesson plans should be geared mostly for the student and types of students; being a guide for the teacher".  I really like that because if for some reason the students are not understanding what the lesson plan is about then the teacher needs to be able to adjust quickly.  For a teacher to know the class very well, definitely helps in creating lesson plans for them.  Work smarter, not harder!

    I like your comment of work smarter, not harder. When it comes to creating a lesson plan, I think you could put tons of time into one, but end up not using half of it. For me, I just want it to give me just enough information to get the objective across.

    Definitely work smarter, not harder! That's my motto for everything in life but it comes in really handy when you're trying to run a classroom. I also agree that it is easier to make a lesson plan when you know your class and how they would respond to certain activities because what may work for one class may not be an option for another.

    Great idea work smarter, not harder. I really don't have a style either as this is going to be my first time writing full lesson plans.

EDUC 337 Week # 4

Class Reflection #1

Hello class! I enjoyed meeting everyone new tonight and those of you that were in previous classes.  I also enjoyed hearing about everyone's favorite teacher.  Most of the class definitely has had some very positive individuals that have helped to guide them into teaching or had a very positive role model.  I think it is awesome to have some of the same experiences as I have had throughout my college courses.  It is fun to hear everyone's adventures!

EDUC 337 Post # 3

Hello group!      As always, I enjoyed class tonight!  By going over word walls and having a quick thought on creating a lesson plan really got my mind going.  I really enjoyed that because it was a quick learning tool that opened my eyes to very different words and how to use them in a classroom.       Creating a mini lesson plan about a writing lesson almost blew my mind though!  I felt like we needed about 15 more minutes but I was able to learn a lot about thinking quickly on my feet about different teaching ideas used during this assignment.       Unfortunately, technology was not our friend last night so the last portion of class was pretty confusing so I plan on going back over the power point to make sure I do not miss out on anything.  I think I have my unit lessons planned in my head, I have started my 100 questions and I hope to start/finish a lot this weekend.  We will see.  :-) *You all may be getting a bit tired of hearing/reading about my 4 year old but I am really
